It will be powered by a 122 horsepower diesel engine and 82 horsepower electric motor. The batteries only hold a 31 mile charge - but what is unique about this car is that the diesel provides backup for the electric - whereas the Prius and other current hybrids do the reverse - electric providing backup to the conventional engine. I really want a decent electric car though. Nicely it has a USB port so you can add more devices than the iPod. Just don't lose the remote, because the body itself has no buttons on it.
