PSFK: After a round of voting, Google Map has announced the best streets in the UK. Users helped decide the Best Foodie, Best Fashion and Most Picturesque street. Britain’s ‘Most Picturesque Street’ was awarded to The Shambles in York which Google described as: The winning street should be uniquely British and visually charming. It could be vibrant, full of character, diverse, walker-friendly or architecturally interesting.

Autoblog: Mitsubishi and PSA Peugeot Citroen have finalized a supply deal that will see the Japanese automaker provide 100,000 electric vehicles to the French company over the life of the agreement. How long said agreement lasts hasn't been publicly announced, but Mitsubishi is due to start building the French-badged cars this October. The re-badged iMiEV electric cars will be sold under the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero brands in Europe. Aside from the left-hand drive and slightly different fascias, the cars will be essentially unchanged from the iMiEV that is already on sale in Japan. Mitsubishi quotes a range of 100 miles but real world results are likely to be in the 60-80 mile range. Peugeot and Citroen have not yet announced pricing for the European market.

Fast Company: The BBC put together a great interactive graphic that traces the percentage of a nation's populace that uses the internet every year, from 1998 to 2008--kind of a shorthand for development over the last decade.

Amazing that only South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia have more than 31% of their populations online in Asia.

Hypebeast: Danish footwear company hummel present a new assortment of its Stadil Slimmer model, made to commemorate this year’s World Cup in South Africa. Featured are six different limited edition releases, with each colorway made in conjunction with some of the top teams in the world. Included in this pack are versions for the US National Team as well as France, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, and England.

BUTT: Young filmmaker Loo Zihan’s first film Solos was a frank portrayal of a gay affair between a teacher and a young student, played by Zihan himself. Unsurprisingly the film was immediately banned in Singapore upon its release in 2007 due to ‘explicit content’. Zihan and I have become friends over the years and when he recently emailed me to say he was coming to New York for a working vacation, I figured he meant writing, or directing, or working on a film in some other capacity. I was more than a little surprised when I found out that the work that brought Zihan here was a week-long stint of go-go dancing at the city’s only Asian gay bar called The Web, an underground club on 57th Street that I’d always heard about but never went to. Every night Zihan, who now lives in Chicago and studies art and film-making, dressed up in inventive costumes that most go-go boys no longer put the effort into – Olympic swimmer garb one night, Shibari Japanese rope bondage another, and a full on leather-man look with nipple clamps the next. It didn’t take me long to realize that more than likely, this experience would be more than just an easy way for Zihan to make money. It’s probably going to end up being his next film…
