Hmm. This is so not the kind of flick that I would normally be off to - and I am sure that it will appeal to others. So you have to forgive it a relatively low rating.

My major problem is that despite having laughed my way through many episodes of Bridezilla I really wonder whether people in the real world care so much about their weddings to get worked up about them like they do in Bride Wars - and is there a market of people out there who will find this entertaining? Ultimately this is so about consumerism and the brain-dead pettiness of two women and unfortunately they don't do it in a very witty way.

These two women are Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. Supposedly they are friends but this all turns to shit when they find out their weddings have been double booked for the same day. It is such a shame that Anne Hathaway had made another wedding film (Rachel Getting Married) around the same time - which is so much better and just makes this one look worse.

For me the characters have no personality - it would have helped if they were at least quirky or complicated - but this is just about unnecessary cattiness - and we all have better things to do that to watch that.
