back onboard a380.. or maybe not
So up early this morning so that I could get myself finished packing and then head off to the airport. Indeed I had finished packing and got the rest of my shit together by about 11am, so then I just sat and watched some TV before South Western Cabs came and picked me up to heard to Sydney Airport. It was a fairly uneventful trip and then I checked in with Qantas (to the allocated 51A) and then headed off to Travelex to pick up my SGD, CHF and EUR. Then headed into immigration and up the Qantas Club to vege out and get some work done before the flight.

Now QF31 from SYD-LHR via SIN operates as a A380 (usually) and I had no hint of a problem until I rocked up to Gate 10 to find that their was a 747 waiting for us. After take off the pilot informed us that the flight was full and that a number of people had to be left behind - but didn't give any further explanation. Service on the flight was pretty good and responsive - with a decidedly older bunch of QF staff. I spent most of my time watching the IFE including trashy movies Bride Wars, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the arty Two Lovers. I then grabbed a bit of kip before we hit Changi.
Everything at Changi was efficient as always - including the thermal scan as I approached immigration. Bags took a little longer than usual but I was soon in a cab and at the Intercontinental. I checked in and grabbed some dinner.
Very busy day but without much achieved. Looking forward to a good night sleep.
