time for car service
Up early so that I could get the car off to Peter Warren for Jazz's first major service. With holidays coming up I really wasn't looking forward to the $540 price tag for this service - and I was less happen when I got two phone calls during the day for additional work to be done - which pushed the total bill up to almost $800. If I was concerned about needing to live cheaply while on my trip before - I was definitely thinking a diet of rice and water would be the order of the day by the time I had paid the bill.
It wasn't all bad. While at Peter Warren I checked out the Honda dealership - and in particular wanted to go and check the Civic Hybrid which has been getting some good word written about it. An alright car - not that I am in the market for something at the moment. I already buy PurePower from entirely renewable sources - so the idea of a much more fuel efficient car appeals greatly. By the time I am ready to buy though - there will probably be a lot more options available on the market.

My secretary went out to Westfield at lunchtime to do some last minute currency exchange for me - but was told that she couldn't get Indonesian Rupiah until next Tuesday. That meant that I had to leave the office a little bit early when I headed out for a meeting and make a stop off at Sydney Airport to visit one of the major Travelex offices there to get some Rupiah in my pocket. I feel much more centred now that I have it though.
From there I went to my next meeting which ran quite late and I didn't get home until well into the night. I am getting quite sick of 12-14 hour days - and I am going to have to try to get a lot of sleep while on holidays I think. The problem was that I planned on getting a haircut tonight before my holiday and I still needed to pack most of my stuff. It was a comedy of errors when my bag was packed and it became obvious that one crucial set of clothes was missing. I went looking for a larger bag and ended up doing some damage to my bed (under which all my luggage was stored) which will require me to do some carpentry - so now I'll be sleeping on the loungeroom floor tonight.
I'm going to be one hell of a grumpy boy tomorrow. But at least I am packed now.
